Title: Implementation of Video Compression using Cortex M4

Abstract:

    IoMT (Internet of Multimedia Things) based gadgets introduce an idea of interconnecting everything around us together using network of sensors, most important of which are image sensors. Implementing this idea within practical constraints require the use of a low cost and low powered solution. The work was to cater this need by performing compression on video data with low powered processor.
   Image Transform Coding and inter-framing algorithms are implemented considering the optimization of power and data processing capability, provided the constraints of frequency and RAM prescribed by cortex M4. Image sensor used is ov7670 camera module, which provides various programmable image formats (YUV, RGB, YCbCr) and manual image scale adjustments. Final setup, including storage unit, provides an optimized solution to video compression utilizing low power, maintaining high data rate.
